Kelsey Kids Playshops 2013-2014Saturday Morning Creative Theatre Workshops for Grades K- 8 Click Here for Printable Registration Form Kelsey Kids classes are in conjunction with "Youth Stages" under the supervision of its founder Jean Prall Rosolino. "PLAYtime" is for students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, and it meets on Saturdays from 9:00am to 10:00am In "PLAYtime", children explore movement and storytelling as they dramatize stories. Through creative drama, children develop expression and self confidence by playing with language and pantomime. Meets for 10 Saturdays and culminates with a "SHARING" for family and friends. "PLAYing Around With Theatre" is for students in 3rd through 5th grade and it meets from 10:15am to 11:30 am "PLAYing Around With Theatre" classes encourage students to become other characters, cooperating with one another as they create their own improvisational scenes. Meets for 10 Saturdays and culminates with a "SHARING" for family and friends.

Winter Session:
Jan. 11, 18, 25, Feb. 1, 8, 22, Mar. 1, 8, 15, 22, 2014 SHARING - Mar. 22, 2014 (No class Feb. 15) PLAYSHOPS Master Class for students in 6th-8th grade 10:15 AM-12:15 PM. This full-year acting class will begin in September 2013 and run for twenty-four 2-hour sessions. This class is for 6th-8th grade students who have attended two semesters of Playshops, or the equivalent of a year of acting classes elsewhere and permission/audition of the instructor. Point of Vier: Looking at Fairytales from Different Perspectives. (Please read an older version of: Jack and the Beanstalk, Rumplestiltskin, and Cinderella prior to class.)This class will devise, script, rehearse and present an original play for the final performance – Sat. April 12th, 2014 at 1pm. Kids Playshops are held in conjunction with Youth Stages under the
supervision of its founder, Jean Prall Rosolino. Ms. Rosolino, who
received her MA in Educational Theatre from NYU, founded Youth Stages in
1996 to provide high quality participatory drama and theatre programs to
area youth. From 1987-1995 she was the Education Director of Creative
Theatre. Jean also conducts drama classes for Princeton Day School,
Montgomery Recreation Department, ,
and she teaches four classes for children with disabilities for VSA New Jersey. In addition to teaching, Jean tours Youth
Stages' one-woman shows of The Three Bears for preschoolers, and
The Natural World Around Us: Rachel Carson for 3rd - 5th graders.
She has performed on the Kelsey stage as The Woman in Death of a
Salesman, Dora Strang in Equus,
Rabbit in Winnie the Pooh, Charlotte in Charlotte’s
Web, Bella in Lost in Yonkers, and the Cook and Mock Turtle in Alice
in Wonderland. Her directing credits include innumerable class
presentations, Our Town for VSA arts of New Jersey, and the Youth
Stages touring productions of Little Red Riding Hood, Two Marys, Five
Jacks and One Very Big Shoe, Genies, Lamps and Dreams: Tales of the
Arabian Nights, and Aesop and the Bully: A Fable for Our Times.
